  1. Purpose of Accessibility Statement

    1. This policy is current as of March 2018.
    2. Ucroo is committed  to advancing technology and information accessibility of its Educational Technology to all individuals. We use the following guidelines to promote equal access to electronic information, resulting in an all-inclusive learning and working environments. An accessible technology and information environment enhances usability for all persons.
    3. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has released a set of guidelines called Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These guidelines presently comprise the international standard for web accessibility. There are three levels of conformance (A, AA and AAA). Ucroo recognises the importance of providing web accessible content to all users of our Educational Technology and meets conformance level A/AA, you may download our WCAG 2.0 compliance sheet in the ‘Compliance Status and Documentation’ section.
    4. Our VPAT 1.6 document is linked below in the ‘Compliance Status and Documentation’ section. This states our compliance with Section 508. We meet most criteria with supports with exceptions at minimum, there is one criteria we do no support.
    5. Since we are not a publication company the EPub3 Accessibility Guidelines are not applicable to us.

    7. We regularly (quarterly) monitor our site for adherence to accessibility standards as we release new features.
    8. We work closely with the Disability Services departments of our partners in order to field requests or issues reported by students with disabilities.
  2. Performing Accessibility Testing

    1. We manually audit our accessibility following standards set in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0
    2. We have used a combination of screen reader software to test functionality including: FANGS screen reader emulator, voiceover, and TalkBack
    3. We test keyboard accessibility using an industry standard Mac and PC Keyboard.
    4. We test accessibility functionality on various devices (PC, Mac, iOS, and Android) as well as browsers (Chrome, Safari, IE 11, Edge, Firefox) for accessibility.
    5. We use Color Contrast Analyzer which is a Sketch plugin that calculates the color contrast of two selected layers and evaluates it against the WCAG 2.0 in order to create a style guide and choose colors that meets AA level.
    6. We use Stark which simulates color blindness and measures color contrast in order to ensure our success and error states are clear and differentiated enough to an end user regardless of color impairments.
    7. We use Accessibility booklets made by University of Illinois to check the following: Headings, Landmarks, Images, Links, Forms, and Controls HTML markup.
    8. We work closely with the Disability Services departments of our partners in order to field requests or issues reported by students with disabilities.

    7. Some components on web are missing focus states and lack ARIA role tags for meaningful description.
    8. Some components in our mobile apps lack ARIA role tags for meaningful description.
